Opened in February 2014, Ringcladdy Barn is a great venue for your next group event. Situated in the middle of the beautiful Co. Down countryside, yet with easy access to all of the attractions of Strangford Lough and Lecale, the Barn offers very comfortable accommodation for up to 24 people. An adjacent cottage can sleep a further 8 people – a bonus for larger groups. Spacious grounds make it possible to park boat trailers while secure out buildings provide storage for bicycles and other equipment.
There are opportunities to engage in outdoor pursuit activities in nearby Castle Ward Estate and Kilclief beach is only two miles away along a quiet and safe country road. Bicycle and canoe hire is readily available in the local area – including electric bikes.
The Barn kitchen has a separate entrance and is fully equipped with all you are likely to need to cater for a large group. This includes a 5 ring cooker, 3 ovens, large fridge/freezer, dish washer, clothes washer/ drier, cutlery, crockery, glasses and cook ware. Two toasters, a microwave and a large electric kettle complete the kitchen equipment. The Kitchen is adjacent to the dining area making for quick and easy transfer of food to the table and efficient serving.
There are four bedrooms, two sleeping 10 people each and two sleeping 2 each. This allows leaders to have some privacy. All beds are full sized bunk beds and very comfortable. Bedding is provided and towels can be provided on request. Bedrooms are centrally heated and extra blankets are supplied in all rooms to ensure you have a cosy night. Each bed has a shelf with a double socket to enable phone charging etc.
There are two bathrooms which allows male/female segregation for mixed groups. One bathroom has 2 toilets and 2 showers while the second has 1 toilet and two showers. All showers are electric so always have hot water available. Two large basins and a long mirror in each bathroom ensure that queueing for bathroom space is minimised.
The cost is £15/night with a minimum charge of £200/night for the first night. A discount applies for the second and subsequent nights.
