Mill Cottage, a carefully restored corn mill with a blend of original features and modern comforts, is set on a wooded hillside near the County Down coast. One of a clachan or cluster of four houses, this cottage offers excellent facilities for a relaxing break or a base for your exploration of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Perfect for families and couples.
The cottage sleeps 5 people and has flexibility between single and super-king sized beds. An extra single bed can also be located in the larger bedroom if required. The kitchen is well equipped and a welcome pack supplied to provide a cup of tea and a biscuit on arrival. As with all of our cottages electricity, gas and heating are included in the published price – no hidden charges!
Mill Cottage is two miles from the pretty lough-side village of Strangford and 6 miles from the historic town of Downpatrick, shopping for supplies or treating yourself to a lovely meal of local produce is easy.
There is a great choice of outdoor pursuits nearby. There are beaches, heritage sites, National Trust properties, walks, cycle trails and outdoor activity centres nearby and excellent fishing, sailing and golfing just a short drive away. This area has become a centre for film making so you might choose to visit some of the locations in Castle Ward where Game of Thrones was filmed. You are guaranteed to find something exciting or relaxing to do. Or there’s always the option of cosying-up in front of the log fire with a glass of wine and a good book!
